SOCHI, February 18. /ITAR-TASS/. All the players on the Russian national ice hockey team performed well in the match against Norway to qualify for the quarterfinals, Pavel Datsyuk, the captain of the Russian national ice hockey team at the Olympics, forward on the team, said after the game, which the Russian team won 4-0.
“If you think that we lacked drive in the match against Norway, this must have seemed to you if you watching the game from back rows. We were quite determined,” Datsyuk said. “We realized that the playing will be tough. The rivals gave much attention to defense. The thing that matters the most is that we have won. Everybody deserves praise. We played well and fulfilled the task,” Datsyuk said
Asked if the players will get enough rest by Wednesday for the quarterfinals against Finland, the team’s captain said: “We aim to get enough rest. There is not much time for that.”
Regarding the Finnish team, Datsyuk said that the Finnish players skate well and have more experienced players than the Norwegian team, and they also have a very good goaltender.
