KAZAN, February 17. /ITAR-TASS/. The Winter Olympic Games host city, Sochi, will show a presentation of the 2015 FINA World Championship in Kazan during a video conference between the two cities.
Taking part in the conference will be president of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko, the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate told Itar-Tass.
“The Winter Olympics in Sochi is a good opportunity to tell people about sports facilities and future sports events of Tatarstan,” director-general of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate Azat Kadyrov said.
Kazan will host the aquatics championship from July 24 to August 9. The sports infrastructure has been fully prepared for the event.
The 2015 FINA World Championship is expected to bring together around 2,400 athletes who will contest for 72 sets of medals. The event includes swimming, highboard diving, synchronized swimming, etc. Competitions will take place at the Aquatics Palace and Kazan Arena football stadium, where two swimming pools will be installed.
