SOCHI, February 16, 23:42 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian speed skater Ivan Skobelev will not take part in the men’s 10000 meter race at the Olympic Games in Sochi, the Olympic news service reported on Sunday.
Norwegian speed skaters Havard Bekko, Sverre Lund Pedersen and substitute Simen Spieler Nilsen withdrew from the 10,000 as well. A team spokesman said they wanted to concentrate on winning the country's first medal in pursuit.
The 10000 meter race will be held on February 18.
