MINSK, February 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Belarusian biathletes Darya Domracheva and Nadezhda Skardino who won the gold and bronze medals in women’s 15 kilometer individual race at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the press service of the Belarusian president told Itar-Tass on Friday.
Earlier, the Belarusian leader said that such sports victories helped promote the image of the country better than diplomacy.
On Thursday, Lukashenko returned to Minsk from Sochi, where he had attended the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. He also attended training sessions of Belorussian biathletes to voice his support to them and wish them good luck.
