SOCHI, February 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia beat Slovenia 5:2 (2:0, 1:2, 2:0) in a Group A men’s preliminary ice hockey game at the Sochi Olympics on Thursday, February 13.

The goals were scored by Russia’s Alexander Ovechkin (2nd minute), Yevgeny Malkin (4th min), Ilya Kovalchuk (38th min), Valery Nichushkin (4th min), and Anton Belov (48th min), and both of Slovenia’s goals were scored by Ziga Jeglic (22nd and 39th min).

In the second round on February 15, Russia will play against the United States, and Slovenia will face Slovakia.
