SOCHI, February 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian ice hockey goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will agree on any decision of coaching staff over who will be selected main goalie at the Winter Olympics in the southern Russian city of Sochi, the athlete said after a training session at Bolshoy Ice Dome here on Wednesday.
“This will be how the coach will decide, I will accept any decision. All of us will learn this soon,” Bobrovsky said.
Russian ice hockey squad will start Olympic competition in a match with Slovenia on February 13. “I believe that most important will be in the match how we will play in it,” Bobrovsky said in reply to a question whether the fact that most Slovenian players are unknown to Russians will create some problems in the match.
The goaltender noted some difference in the size of the rink on which he plays in the National Ice Hockey League (NHL) and a European rink, on which he will play in Sochi. “Certainly, there is some difference, according to my personal feelings, and this difference is significant. But we have some time to adapt to it. And our task is to catch pucks,” the athlete added.
