SOCHI, February 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said Austrian coaches and athletes were overjoyed at their stay in Olympic Sochi.
“Austrians praised Russia’s preparations for the Olympic Games in Sochi. The Austrian chancellor talked about it earlier. Now it is very pleasant to hear the Austrian minister’s compliments. Gerald Klug is an authoritative politician, who is also the country’s defence minister,” Mutko said.
“Gerald Klug said Austrian athletes express gratitude for the Games’ high organisation and for hospitality. In general, Austrian athletes and coaches like everything: routes, conditions for living and training etc. They noted volunteers’ excellent work,” the Russian minister said.
“Our talk also focused on closer cooperation between our countries. The Russian ministry take interest in training elite alpine skiers in the Alps. We discussed the issues of transparency and tolerance. I’d to explain the key principles of Russia’s policy in this aspect,” Mutko said, adding “The meeting was fruitful. I’m sure that it will yield results soon."
