SOCHI, February 11, 15:22 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian skiers Sergey Ustiugov, Alexey Petukhov, Nikita Kriukov and Anton Gafarov qualified for men’s sprint free quarterfinals at the Winter Olympics in the southern Russian city of Sochi on Tuesday.
Ustiugov skied a 1.8km race course for 3:30.26 minutes, taking the second place. Petukhov came ninth (3:32.67), Kriukov - 11th (3:34.04) and Gafarov - 20th (3:36.10).
Norwegian Ola Vigen Hattestad showed the best results in the sprint with 3:28.40 minutes. Italian Federico Pellegrino finished the sprint third with 3:30.40 munites.
Four Russian skiers qualified for sprint free quarter-finals.
Medals in this cross-country skiing discipline will be contested later on Tuesday.
