GORKI, February 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev described an opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in the southern Russian city of Sochi as a grandiose and tremendous event.
“I attended the opening ceremony of the Olympics for the first time. I did not expect that this is such a grandiose and tremendous event,” he said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday. He added that he was so impressed by the opening ceremony that he even did not notice how two hours of opening ceremony passed. Atambayev noted that the scale of the opening ceremony “points to current Russian potential.”
“I believe that a closing ceremony will be also exciting,” the Kyrgyz president noted.
In reply to Medvedev’s question whether he will arrive to attend the Olympics closing ceremony Atambayev stated that he would like to attend it, but he was not sure whether he would have enough time to do it.
