SOCHI, February 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian short tracker Sofia Prosvirnova has advanced to quarterfinals of the Sochi Olympics in 500m race here on Monday.
The athlete showed the race time of 44.940 seconds, yielding to British short tracker Elise Christie (44.775 seconds). Another Russian short track racer Valeria Reznik failed to pass the race heats. Russian short tracker Tatiana Borodulina was disqualified earlier due to the false start.
Quarterfinals of the 500m short track race will be held on February 13.
