Russian luger Albert Demchenko oldest Winter Olympic medalist

SOCHI, February 10, 2:11 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian luger Albert Demchenko who won silver in men’s singles at the Sochi Winter Olympics on Sunday, became the oldest medalist in the history of Winter Olympic Games.

Demchenko was aged 42 years and 72 days when he won the medal.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev have congratulated the luger on his victory.
