SOCHI, February 9. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s women’s ice hockey team defeated Germany’s team in the preliminary round at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi on Sunday with a score 4:1 /0:0, 0:1, 3:0/.
Pucks were delivered by Russia’s Iya Gavrilova (46th minute), Olga Sosnina (49th, 53rd minutes) and Yekaterina Smolentseva (50th minute), and Germany’s Franziska Busch (27th minute).
Another match in Group B resulted in the victory of Sweden over Japan with a score 1:0.
The Russian women’s team will play with Japan’s team in another preliminary round on February 11. Germany will play with Sweden on the same day.
