SOCHI, February 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian ice dancers Yelena Ilyinykh and Nikita Katsalapov are expected to replace Yekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Solovyev in the team figure skating tournament at the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, the Figure Skating Federation of Russia said in a report on its official website.
Saturday, Bobrova and Solovyov performed a short program in the team tournament and took the third position in the ranking.
Apart from Ilyinykh and Katsalapov in the free skate, Olympic champion Yevgeny Plushenko and European champion Yulia Lipnitskaya have also been registered for competitions on the final day of the team presentation.
After the first two days of team competitions, Russia remains in the lead with 47 points, while the Canadians are second with 41 points and the U.S., third with 34 points.
