MOSCOW, February 8. /ITAR-TASS/. After pairs’ free skating competition at Sochi Olympics, Russian national figure skating team has a commanding lead with 47 points. Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov presented a free skating program dubbed “The Addams Family”, flawlessly performing all the complicated elements.
Earlier in the day, Russian athletes Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Solovyev came third in pairs’ figure skating short dance, and the youngest athlete of Sochi, 15-year-old Yulia Lipnitskaya beautifully performed her short program, cementing Russia’s leadership in team competition.
Next figure skating competitions are scheduled for February 9, at 19:00 Moscow time (15:00 GMT). These will be men’s free skating, women’s free skating and free skating dance pairs.
