MOSCOW, February 08. /ITAR-TASS/. The Olympic construction project in Sochi was an efficient anti-crisis measure, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a documentary "The Philosophy of the Soft Way" aired by the Russia 1 television channel.
“We have all the grounds to say that the Olympic project, the Olympic construction was one of the strongest anti-crisis measures in the country in the midst of the crisis,” he said.
The Russian president noted that up to 90,000 workers from 50 regions were employed at the construction sites. Apart from that, as many as 300 companies from 35 regions worked on the Olympic agenda. “In terms of the entire country, I mean subcontractors - metal manufacturers, transport companies, etc. - the Olympic project created additional 560,000 jobs,” Putin stressed.
