CHERKESSK, February 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Pupils from children’s music schools in the Karachay-Cherkessia republic of Russia's North Caucasus will perform in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games in hosting Black Sea resort Sochi, a spokesman for the republic’s head said on Friday.
The cultural program of the Olympic and Paralympic Games will also feature two other performing groups from Karachay-Cherkessia — the State Ensemble Elbrus, laureate of many regional and all-Russian festivals and dance contests, and the Hars accordionists' ensemble.
The opening ceremony begins at the Fisht Olympic Stadium at 20:14 Moscow time on February 7. It will last 160 minutes, bringing together 3,000 singers and dancers and 2,000 volunteers.
