SOCHI, February 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Canadian Olympians praise the organization of the 2014 Winter Games in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi and are all in great mood, an athlete from Canada’s women curling team said on Thursday.
Jennifer Jones, whose country hosted the previous Winter Olympics in 2010, said everything was outstanding in Sochi and thanked the organizers of the global sports event, which runs between February 7 and 23.
According to the 39-year-old curler, everything that Canadian athletes have seen in Sochi so far exceeded their expectations. Jones particularly pointed out that most Olympic facilities in the Russian city were located within a walking distance.
Each morning athletes are enjoying the view of the Black Sea, and Canadian Olympians are permanently smiling as they enjoy the atmosphere of the Games, she added.
The Canadian team finished the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver with an unprecedented 26-medal performance, which included 14 golds, and topped the medal count standings.
