SOCHI, February 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia is prepared to hold the Sochi Olympics, which is actually a major national project, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in the Russian Black Sea resort on Wednesday.
He recalled that construction had been done almost from scratch, including in the highlands that was a difficult task.
“Russia had been going to this moment for seven years. This became a major national project,” Putin said.
He recalled that modern highly technological sport facilities had been built as well as two clusters for accommodation of athletes in Imereti Valley and in the highlands.
“Russia is prepared for the Games,” the president noted.
