MOSCOW, February 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Head of the North Korean parliament’s presidium will pay a two-day official visit to Russia’s resort city of Sochi to hold talks with his Russian counterpart and attend the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics, the North Korean ambassador to Russia said.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Ambassador Kim Yong Jae said he “confirms” that President of the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA) Presidium Kim Yong Nam will be visiting Sochi on February 6 and 7.
The diplomat added that during the visit Kim Yong Nam plans to hold a bilateral meeting with Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of the Russian parliament’s upper house, the Federal Assembly.
The 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia’s Sochi are running between February 7 and 23 and will be followed by Winter Paralympics on March 7-16.
