SOCHI, January 28. /ITAR-TASS/. New bus routes for the guests of the 2014 Winter Olympics have begun operating in the city, stretching some 150 kilometers along the Black Sea coast. The buses will run with 5-minute intervals during the Games, the Olympics Transport Office told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
Special routes have been launched for every single group of guests and participants of the Olympics for exclusive usage only, which means one group will be unable to use another’s bus route. Such system was elaborated according to international standards and makes passenger transportation more secure and comfortable.
The office’s CEO said more than 300 buses had started running on the eve of the Games and some 963 would be operating during the Olympics, while half of all the transport facilities would be used during the Paralympics. Some of these comfortable buses are meant for the visitors, and the schedule is organized in such a manner that spectators would be able to easily plan their routes to and from the events.
The guests will be able board buses at transportation hubs, located near the railway station in the centre of Sochi and also in Matsesta, Khosta and Adler neighborhoods, as well as in Krasnaya Polyana, Esto-Sadok village, Rosa Khutor Alpine Center and near the Sliding Center Sanki.
