MOSCOW, January 27, 21:38 /ITAR-TASS/. Former Russian speed skating champion Svetlana Zhurova, who is now a State Duma deputy, believes that Russia can win 12 gold medals at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
“It is hard for me to say what place Russia will occupy in the overall standings,” Zhurova said. “But winning 12 gold medals is within our power. It may look fantastic but we should try to implement this plan. I am sure that our athletes will do their best. A medal in men’s hockey should certainly be in this thrift box,” Zhurova emphasized.
