NEW YORK, December 07, 13:51 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian super heavyweight boxer Magomed Abdusalamov has come out of the medically induced coma.
A doctor has left a message that Abdusalamov came out of the coma, said Nathan Lewkowicz, vice president of the promoter company Sampson Boxing, which works with the sportsman. Lewkowicz reported about it on Twitter.
On November 3, Abdusalamov lost a ten-round fight on points to Mike Perez of Cuba in the known complex Madison Square Garden in New York. The Russian boxer received a serious head injury in the fight. He underwent surgery. Besides, he suffered a stroke. The boxer was in a medically induced coma until November 23. However, shortly afterward, he had to undergo an operation to remove a blood clot from the brain and again was in a medically induced coma.
In early November, promoters said the Russian boxer would not return to a ring any more. In the fight with Perez, Abdusalamov had his first defeat as a professional boxer. He won 18 previous fights by knockouts.
