MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The Russian Premier League (RPL) has allocated money in support of the financially struggling football club Anzhi, which immediately initiated wage arrears payments to its players, Anzhi FC Head Coach Magomed Adiyev told TASS on Friday.

Anzhi FC, the football club from Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, is experiencing financial difficulties at the moment. The club’s management turned to the authorities of Dagestan at the beginning of the season asking for financial help, but did not receive the support.

RPL President Sergei Pryadkin told TASS on Tuesday that Russia’s top football league would render the necessary assistance to Anzhi FC to help it finish playing matches of the regular season.

"Anzhi FC experiences financial problems at the moment," Adiyev said in an interview with TASS. "The club’s management turned to the authorities of Dagestan for help at the dawn of the season, but received no support."

The club was denied on Monday an access to the Anzhi-Arena in the city of Kaspiisk for a training session before one of their regular match since the football club failed to pay out a debt to the owners of the stadium. Oleg Flegontov, the club’s general director, announced to TASS earlier in the month that the club was likely to withdraw from the national football tournament after the winter break.

"The RPL administration transferred today a part of the required money to the account of Anzhi football club and we have partially repaid wage arrears of our players," Anzhi FC head coach said.

"I would like to personally thank Russian Premier League President Sergei Pryadkin for the assistance as well as the rest of the clubs of the premier league for their support, which they voiced during a session of the RPL clubs," Adiyev added.
