EDINBURGH, August 9. /TASS/. Russian divers Alexander Bondar and Viktor Minibaev won gold medals on Thursday at the 2018 European Championships showing best result in men’s synchronized 10m platform.

Referees awarded the Russian duo of Bondar and Minibaev 423.12 points for their dive. Great Britain’s pair of Matthew Dixon and Noah Williams executed their dive to the mark of 399.90 points, which brought them the silver.

Armenia’s Vladimir Arutyunyan and Lev Sargsyan received 396.84 points to pack the bronze.

The 2018 European Championship is the first multi-sport event uniting different European championships and is held between August 2 and 12 in Scotland’s Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as in Germany’s Berlin.

The European multi-event championship include competitions in such sports as swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, track cycling, road cycling, mountain biking, BMX, rowing and triathlon, artistic gymnastics, athletics, diving, golf.

The Russian national team is currently in the top of the 2018 European Championships’ overall medals standings with 22 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze (45 in total). Athletes from Great Britain are in second place with 39 medals (15 gold, 13 silver and 11 bronze) and the Dutch team concludes the top-three with 31 medals (11 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze).
