Japanese company buys distribution rights for Todorovsky’s film Bolshoi

The film which was released in Russia in May tells the story of a talented provincial dancer who comes to Moscow to become a Bolshoi ballet star

TOKYO, December 12. /TASS/. The Japanese company AT Entertainment has purchased distribution rights to show Russian film director Valery Todorovsky’s new movie Bolshoi in Japan, the film’s producer, Dmitry Davidenko, said on Tuesday.

The film which was released in Russia in May tells the story of a talented provincial dancer who comes to Moscow to become a Bolshoi ballet star.

"This will be a Japanese premiere as the film was not shown in the country before," Davidenko said, adding that Bolshoi will hit the Japanese screens in the near future.

The film was shown only at the closing ceremony of the Russian Seasons in Tokyo on Sunday.

In all, 3.5 mln people attended some 250 events as part of the Russian Seasons in 42 Japanese cities.
