Russia’s Urals, South Czech regions agree to develop tourism

Czech tourists could be interested in industrial and military-patriotic tourism in the Ural region, according to the head of South Bohemian tourist department

YEKATERINBURG, November 27. /TASS/. The Urals Region of Sverdlovsk and South Bohemia, a region in the Czech Republic, have agreed on cooperation in the tourist sphere, the Sverdlovsk regional press service said on Monday.

"The Sverdlovsk Region and South Bohemia have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the tourist sphere. This cooperation will attract tourists to the region. According to the head of South Bohemian tourist department Jaromir Polasek, Czech tourists could be interested in industrial and military-patriotic tourism in the Ural region," the press service said.

Elmira Tukanova, the head of the Sverdlovsk regional center for tourism development, said this memorandum outlines a plan for the development of bilateral ties.

"The announcements of cultural, sports and business events planned in the Sverdlovsk Region will be published on tourist websites of South Bohemia. The Sverdlovsk Region will also present its tourist projects at an international exposition in Ceske Budejovice," Tukanova was quoted as saying.

The Czech Republic is one of the top ten popular tourist destinations for Ural tourists.
