Cuba to publish book of Russian poet Yevtushenko’s poems in Spanish

Celebrated Soviet and Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko died in the United States on Saturday aged 84

HAVANA, April 2. /TASS/. A book of Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko’s poems in Spanish is prepared for publication in Cuba, poet and translator Juan Luis Hern·ndez Melian told TASS on Saturday.

"Cuba is preparing for publication a collection of Yevtushenko’s poems translated by me. I hope it will be published already this year, Melian said.

Yevtushenko’s death is a huge loss for the world literature, he said. "I was not personally acquainted with him but I like all his poems very much. Yevtushenko is an excellent poet and his works will never lose relevance," Melian added.
