Russian diplomats in US to assist late Yevtushenko’s family

The embassy says it should be clarified how the poet’s will was formalized as he had wanted to be buried near Moscow.

WASHINGTON, April 1. /TASS/. Russia’s consulate general in Houston will provide full assistance to the family of celebrated Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko, who died in the US on Saturday aged 84, the press service of Russia’s embassy to Washington told TASS.

The embassy says it should be clarified how the poet’s will was formalized as he had wanted to be buried near Moscow.

"The consulate general will do its utmost to help the family and friends (of Yevtushenko) to fulfil his last will," the diplomat said.
