Mahershala Ali awarded Oscar for best supporting role in ‘Moonlight’

NEW YORK, February 27. /TASS/. Mahershala Ali was awarded Oscar on Sunday night for the best Actor In A Supporting Role category for his role in ‘Moonlight.’

Besides the 43-year-old actor the other nominees in this category were Jeff Bridges ‘Hell or High Water,’ Lucas Hedges ‘Manchester by the Sea,’ Dev Patel ‘Lion’ and Michael Shannon ‘Nocturnal Animals.’

The 89th Academy Awards is held on the night of February 26 in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
