Snake found on plane en route to Mexico City

In accordance with existing rules, the aircraft with an unusual passenger was given priority when landing at the airport

MEXICO CITY, November 8. /TASS/. Non-poisonous snake was found onboard the Aeromexico plane en route from Torreon to Mexico City, the air carrier said in a statement distributed on Tuesday.

There was no panic onboard. In accordance with existing rules, the aircraft with an unusual passenger was given priority when landing at the airport. No one was injured.

Veterinary services said the snake was one of the species that habituate the northern part of Mexico.

"Together with local authorities, we are trying to understand how the snake got onboard. It could have gotten there by itself or in the luggage of one of the passengers," Aeromexico said in the statement.
