Russian-Iranian contacts in healthcare intensify considerably of late

Over the period, workgoups on healthcare had three sessions in Moscow and Teheran and the two ministries signed a memorandum of cooperation

MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. Cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Healthcare and Iranian Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Education has intensified considerably in the past two years, Russian Healthcare Minister Veronika Skvortsova said on Thursday at a meeting with the Russian Health Minister, Hassan Hashemi.

"We note with great satisfaction a sizable increase of contacts over the past two years," she said. "They are not only on paper. We have joint projects."

Over the period, workgoups on healthcare had three sessions in Moscow and Teheran and the two ministries signed a memorandum of cooperation, Skvortsova said.

"We hope our today's meeting and the programs we have will be useful and interesting and will serve further collaboration," she said.

Hassan Hashemi and Russian Deputy Ministry of Industry and Trade Sergei Tsyb signed fifteen documents in Moscow on cooperation in healthcare earlier on Thursday. They concern, in part, medical equipment and technologies and production of anti-flu vaccines.
