Minister of Health points to increase in Russia’s average life expectancy to 72 years

MOSCOW, September 19. /TASS/. The average life expectancy in Russia has increased by 0.7 years in 2016 reaching 72.1 years, the Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova told journalists.

"Over a period of half a year, the life expectancy figures grew to 71.4 years in 2015. During the first seven months of 2016, it has already risen 0.7 year reaching 72.1 years," the minister noted. According to her, the average life expectancy for women is 77.3 years, while for men it is approaching 67 years of age.

"The mortality rate is continually decreasing in all age groups," Skvortsova added.
