Shooting reported from polling station in Chelyabinsk region, no one hurt

An investigation is underway

YEKATERINBURG, September 18. /TASS/. Shooting has been reported from a polling station in the Chelyabinsk region, in the Urals, during elections to the Russian State Duma lower parliament house, no one was hurt, a source in the region’s emergencies services told TASS on Sunday.

"According to preliminary data, shooting was reported in the Uvelsky district. No one was hurt. As a result of the incident, a window was broken," the source said.

An investigation is underway.

Elections to the State Duma, Russia’s lower house of Parliament, are being on September 18 in a split system: 225 members of parliament will be elected by party tickets, while the other 225 are going to be elected in one-seat constituencies. More than 111 million people are eligible to vote in the election and no minimal turnout is required.
