Spain extradites human trafficking suspect to Russia

MOSCOW, August 18 /TASS/. A Russian woman suspected of human trafficking was extradited from Spain to Russia on Thursday, Russian Interior Ministry’s Spokeswoman Irina Volk told TASS.

"The employees of Interpol’s central national bureau of the Russian Interior Ministry and the Russian Penitentiary Service have escorted Russian national Yelena Bokholdina, 33, from Spain to Russia," Volk said.

She added that the Interpol had put Bokholdina allegedly involved in human trafficking on the international wanted list in April this year at the request of the Volgograd branch of the Russian Interior Ministry.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against Bokholdina in Russia’s Volgograd region where she was born.
