MOSCOW, August 1. /TASS/. The former head of Russia’s largest hydropower company RusHydro Yevgeny Dod accused of large-scale fraud has paid 73 mln rubles ($1 mln) as reparation of damage incurred by the company, a source close to the investigation told TASS Monday.
"As of now the funds have been transferred to the corporation’s account though it remains to be seen whether they will be accepted as reparation for damages," the source said, adding that the matter may be clarified within several days.
Yevgeny Dod and Chief Accountant - Head of the Corporate Accounting and Reporting Department Dmitry Finkel are accused of committing a crime stipulated by part 4, article 159 of Russia’s Criminal Code (Gross Fraud) with 2013 bonus payments worth 73 mln rubles. The article carries a maximum prison term of 10 years.
The defendants reject the fraud charges.
