YEKATERINBURG, August 1. /TASS/. Anthrax has been identified as the cause of death of a teenager in Salekhard, the Yamal-Nenets autonomous area. Earlier the twelve-year-old boy had been brought to the district hospital from a hotbed of this dangerous infection, the governor’s press-service has said.
"The disease has claimed one life. There’s been news of the death of a twelve-year-old boy in a Salekhard hospital. Anthrax is to be blame with 90% certainly. He had the gastrointestinal form of the disease. This type of anthrax is very hard to diagnose, so extending the needed help was very hard," the service said.
Governor Dmitry Kobylkin has ordered thorough probe into the medical treatment provided minute by minute and to extend psychological and other assistance to the boy’s parents.
