Decoding of flight recorders shows Il-76 functioned properly at time of crash

The Russian Emergencies Ministry's Ilyushin-76 plane crashed in the Irkutsk region on July 1 while on a mission to put out wildfires in Siberia

IRKUTSK, July 5. /TASS/. Data from the flight recorders of the Ilyushin-76 waterbomber jet, which crashed in the Irkutsk region on July 1 has been decoded, Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov told reporters on Tuesday.

"Flight data recorders have been decoded and the decoding shows all the technological systems were functioning properly," he said.

Experts from the CIS Interstate Aviation Committee and investigators from the Investigations Committee are scrutinizing all the circumstances of the crash.

"All the results will be made public," Puchkov said.

The Ilyushin-76 crashed in the Irkutsk region on July 1 while on a mission to put out wildfires in Siberia.
