SYKTYVKAR, June 25. /TASS/. The Russian Union of Timber Industrialists and Exporters submitted a bid for the World Logging Championship 2018 to be held in Russia. The bid was accepted, President of the Union Miron Tatsyun said on Saturday after the fourth Russian logging championship.
"We sent the bid to the international association for hosting the world championship in Russia. The bid was accepted. We hope the decision will be made for Russia to host the 2018 World Championship. Komi is one of constituent entities to be considered," Tatsyun said.
"We are ready to host the world championship in 2018," Acting Head of the Komi Region Sergey Gaplikov said. "Everything will depend only on decisions of organizers in the nearest future," he added.
