Marijuana field spotted in zone of military operation in Donbass

The SBU has opened a criminal investigation against a local citizen who distributed drugs among the Ukrainian troops

KIEV, June 25. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Security Service has found and destroyed a half hectare of marijuana field in the zone of Kiev’s military operation in eastern Ukraine, the SBU press service said on Saturday.

"The illegal planting of marijuana on the area of around 0.5 hectare has been destroyed by Ukraine’s Security Service in the area of conducting anti-terrorist operation," it said.

The field of more than 5,000 marijuana plants was located near the Artemovka village of the Donetsk region’s Konstantinovsky district. The SBU has also opened a criminal investigation against a local citizen who distributed drugs among the Ukrainian troops.

Intelligence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics has reported many times that Kiev forces use drugs and drink alcohol while on duty in the zone of the operation. The LPR’s ministry of state security earlier on Saturday said that a major channel of drugs supplies from Ukraine’s territory had been eliminated.
