Cash collectors bring $212,000 fake money to Russian bank

The banknotes were replaced with bills of the so-called Prank Bank

MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. A bank in Tatarstan’s capital Kazan has reported to police the swapping of banknotes worth 14 million rubles (over $212,000) for counterfeit money, a spokesperson for the Russian Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

"According to preliminary reports, some banknotes brought to the bank by cash collectors were replaced with bills of the so-called Prank Bank," Irina Volk said.

A criminal probe into major theft has been launched, she added.
