ULAN-UDE, June 11. /TASS/. The fire near children’s summer camp in Siberia’s Buryatia is localized, press service of the regional emergencies authority said on Saturday.
"Development of the fire was stopped, it is localized," the authority said. "The fire area is about three hectares, it does not threaten the camp. All children have been evacuated."
Right now about 80 people are extinguishing the fire. They use more than 20 special vehicles.
The preliminary version is the fire began in a small house not far from the camp and then it developed into the forest.
"For security reasons, children from the camp were evacuated to Ulan-Ude. 176 of 212 children live in Ulan-Ude - they will be picked by their parents, and another 36 come from the republic’s other districts - now they are accommodated at a hostel," the emergency authority said. "Specialists remain there together with the children.".
