Source says light plane crashes in southern Russia, pilot killed

A source says the aircraft was owned by a private person, and its flight had not been authorized, no victims or destruction on the ground left

MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. The Bekas (Snipe) light airplane has crashed in Russia’s southern Rostov region. A source in the regional law enforcement agencies told TASS that the pilot who was aboard the plane had died.

"According to verified data, the plane crashed 2 kilometers from Sadovy populated locality as it was performing agricultural work," the source said. He noted that the aircraft was owned by a private person, and its flight had not been authorized. There are no victims or destruction on the ground.

The regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said the plane fell in Salsk District of the Rostov region.
