During tactical drills servicemen were able to swiftly assess the scale of the emergency and extinguished the main sources of fire, at the same time ensuring security of adjacent buildings

ULAN UDE, June 2. /TASS/. Readiness of contingency firefighting squads has been checked in formations and units of the Eastern Military District stationed in Buryatia, the district’s press service said on Thursday.

"Drills were held with participation of over 100 servicemen and 15 units of new special equipment for extinguishing wildfires of high complexity," head of the district’s press service Alexander Gordeyev said.

During drills, the firefighting tank GPM-54 was used along with armored fire and rescue vehicle APSB-6-40 based on the KAMAZ truck equipped with reservoirs for water and foam.
