MOSCOW, May 28./TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Azerbaijani counterpart Ilkham Aliyev on Republic Day marked in Azerbaijan on Saturday, the Kremlin press service reports.
The Russian president highlighted Azerbaijan’s achievements in social, economic, scientific-technical and other spheres, as well as the weight of the country on the international arena, it said.
"Putin gave high marks to the level of Russian-Azerbaijani relations, political dialog and mutually advantageous cooperation on different directions, as well as expressed confidence for a further expansion of the whole range of bilateral ties and partnership in the settlement of pressing issues on regional and international agenda in the interests of the two countries’ peoples," the press service said in a report.
