Police find two more bodies of gunmen killed in special operation in Derbent

According to earlier reports, unidentified gunmen opened gunfire at policemen in Debrent when they tried to check an apartment in a residential house in Derbent’s Krepostnaya Street

MAKHACHKALA, May 15. /TASS/. The police have found two more bodies at the site of Saturday’s special operation in the city of Derbent in Russia’s North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan, a source in the local law enforcement agencies told TASS on Sunday.

"According to preliminary information, two more bodies were found under the debris. The bodies are being identified. Clear-up operations at the site of the special operation continue," the source said.

According to earlier reports, unidentified gunmen opened gunfire at policemen in Debrent when they tried to check an apartment in a residential house in Derbent’s Krepostnaya Street. The chief of the city’s criminal police was killed and seventeen policemen were wounded in a shootout. The police conducted an operation to detain gunmen who had killed the father of Derbent’s former mayor on May 9. The body of one gunman was found earlier on Sunday.
