Fourth suspect in murder of policeman’s family in southern Russia detained

He left the Samara region on the day of the crime — on April 24 — and was detained on Tuesday while trying to cross the Tajik-Afghan border

SAMARA, May 4. /TASS/. The fourth suspect in the murder of the former head of police in the city of Syzran Andrei Gosht and his family has been detained while trying to cross the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, head of the Interior Ministry’s main department in the Samara region Sergei Solodovnikov told reporters on Wednesday.

"The fourth defendant in this case was detained on Tuesday while trying to cross the Tajik-Afghan border. I think he will be brought to Syzran at around 14.00 Moscow Time, and investigative actions will be carried out with him," Solodovnikov said.

According to him, the fourth suspect left the Samara region on the day of the crime — on April 24.

"In the afternoon on April 24, the fourth defendant travelled from Syzran to Moscow by train, and from there he arrived in Tajikistan on April 25. We believe that he is the person who led his partners in crime to this house," Solodovnikov said.
