Two Russian climbers die in avalanche in Buryatia

Both men are members of the Russian Mountaineering Federation

IRKUTSK, April 19. /TASS/. Two Russian climbers have died in an avalanche near the Ikatsky ridge in Russia’s Siberian Republic of Buryatia, the Russian Mountaineering Federation said on its website on Tuesday.

The website cites Alexander Klepikov, the leader of the climbers’ team, who said the bodies of Artyom Sinyushkin and Konstantin Krivosheyev, both from Irkutsk, have already been brought to the base camp to be evacuated by Russian emergencies ministry rescuers who are expected to reach the site on April 20.

Both men are members of the Russian Mountaineering Federation.
