MOSCOW, April 18./TASS/. Ukrainian-born US classical pianist Valentina Lisitsa started on Monday a tour of Ukraine’s self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic with a concert in the town of Debaltsevo, the site of fierce fighting in 2015, the Donetsk News Agency reports from the site.
This is a second visit of a renowned American pianist to Donbass this year. The concert takes place within the framework of the Prokofiev Spring festival and is timed to mark 125 years since the birth of famous Russian (and Soviet) composer Sergey Prokofiev.
The American pianist will visit six towns of the self-proclaimed republic that were the hardest hit in warfare. The gala concert will be held in Donetsk.
