MAKACHKALA, April 14. /TASS/. Dagestan’s Interior Ministry has confirmed that police officers were attacked in the Buinaksk district of the Russian Northern Caucasian republic.
A source with the regional law enforcement agencies told TASS that unidentified persons opened fire on traffic police, wounding two officers.
"The police officers sustained medium wounds. A search operation for the criminals is underway," the spokesman said adding the police tried to stop a Lada car that was violating traffic rules. But the driver refused and sped away. When the police officers followed the Lada, shots were fired at the police.
