Putin to attend State Council presidium meeting on road traffic safety

The event will involve discussions of measures aimed at reducing the number of road accidents and the seriousness of their consequences

YAROSLAVL, March 14. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will on Monday visit the city of Yaroslavl in central Russia where he will attend the Russian State Council presidium’s meeting on road traffic safety, the Kremlin reported.

The event will involve discussions of measures aimed at reducing the number of road accidents and the seriousness of their consequences, including those requiring improvement of the current legislation.

Besides, the meeting participants will raise the issue of the necessity to develop a road traffic safety strategy for the Russian Federation for a long term.

The State Council presidium consists of nine members (leaders of Russian Federation constituent members). Its composition is changed once in six months.
